The eyes of Eve

The eyes of Eve

(Click on the Moonlight Sonata at the bottom of the post, and then read the poem)

You wonder if they are blue or green
Or grey like she said
Light green I see
Light jade
The stone from Heaven
The chinese call it
A reflection I would say
Of jade, in a sightseeing of Heaven
A mirroir of nature's green

And then there is the blue
Almost dark blue
And black in the middle
A beautiful blue sky
So intense
With a focus of black inside
To look at me maybe
An endearing blue
Intimate in Happiness

Eve thinks they are grey sometimes
Light grey I suppose
Innocence and maturity
Mixed with placid neutrality
Simple kindness
A desert of passionate feelings
The class of friendliness
The charm of afternoon
For me it's noon

Noon that is, where do I go from here
The sun is right on top of me
Eve's eyes are right on me
Should I go for the green
Of late afternoon
The light green of serenity
With me standing inside her eyes
Enjoying the sublime extase
Of fulfilling joy and expectations

Or should I go for the illuminated blue
Of the early evening
Or lively morning
I see in your eyes
Nurturing blue enlightened
Around a core, a strong focus
Of connection, a sense of belonging
A tender surrounding of light blue
Setting on me like the sun on the set

Maybe settle for the grey afternoon
After the dream of noon
When the sun is right on me
Eve's eyes lighting up my face
Her light is still there on you, in you, even later on
Like a loving memory
Is that love at first sight, or the quiet breeze of the night
A vague, pervasive, but happy feeling
Soothing you in warm but wise sentiments

I saw you from far
And thought your eyes were of all colors
Brownish like the gaze of a deer
With the colors of the fall
Now they are grey, blue and green
With the light of friendship
Enlivened in beautiful smiles
Blushing together in imaginary guesses
Walking by...Walk on by...mmm...Joni's eyes...
